The Surgical Center at Lewistown Hospital combines all services into one state-of-the-art building.  It contains five (5) operating suites that are staffed with highly qualified Physicians, RNs and Surgical Technicians.

The procedures performed include:  general surgery; ear, nose and throat surgery; OB/GYN; orthopedics; ophthalmology; podiatry; dental; urology and cardiovascular.  Elective surgeries are scheduled Monday through Friday, although emergency surgery can be performed at any time.

Our Anesthesia team is comprised of anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists who meet with the patient prior to surgery to individually plan for their anesthetic.

Our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), or “recovery room,” is staffed with qualified RNs to ensure maximum safety and comfort for the patient.

The Same Day Surgery (SDS) Unit has twelve (12) individual bays that provide both complete privacy and comfort.  The RN staff prepares the patient for surgery and completes all the necessary preoperative tasks.

Registration and the Pre-Admission testing are also located in the Surgical Center.  This allows surgical patients to take care of all preoperative testing, insurance matters, and receive education regarding their procedure in a most convenient manner. Please click on our Registration and Pre-admission Testing Page for more information.
