The Lewistown Hospital Board of Trustees, the Medical Staff, Employees, and Volunteers, are committed to carrying out the mission of Lewistown Hospital, part of which is the delivery of high quality services to the individuals in the communities we serve. Promoting safety is an intricate part of the delivery of high quality services.
The foundation of our quality improvement efforts is focusing on delivering optimal healthcare and customer service.
As a participant in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) 5 Million Lives Campaign, the Hospital is committed to implement evidence-based practices and to continue working on interventions to make improvements.
The following interventions are current areas of focus:
- Reduce surgical complications
- Deliver reliable, evendence-based care for congestive heart failure
- Deploy Rapid Response Teams
- Deliver reliable, evidence-based care for acute myocardial infarction
- Prevent central line infections
- Prevent surgical site infections
- Prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia
These Campaign efforts are endorsed by the American Hospital Association, the American Nurses Association, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the Joint Commission.
